Our commitment
Respecting and protecting your information
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you, or that you may provide, when using the New Respect Private School mobile application. It also explains how we collect, use, maintain, protect, and disclose that information, as well as the choices available to you and how you may access or update your information.
Collection of personal information
We receive and store user account information that is created by the school administration and provided to users before they begin using the App. The only information collected directly from the device is geolocation data (latitude and longitude), and only when you submit a location where your child needs to be picked up by the school bus and dropped off after school. Other pages in the App do not collect geolocation data.
The App does not continuously collect your location. A location is sent only when you deliberately share it on the Map page.
You do not need to enter additional Personal Information to use the App. Your username and password are provided by your organization, and all App features are available without additional personal-data submission. If you do not yet have an account, please contact the school administration or your IT administrator to create one.
Privacy of children
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children under the age of 18. The App does not contain fields through which children can add or submit Personal Information. Required student profile information is collected during account creation by the school administration in the presence of a parent or guardian.
If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 18 has provided Personal Information to us through the Mobile Application or Services, please contact us and request that the information be deleted.
Use and processing of collected information
To make the Mobile Application and Services available to you, or to meet a legal obligation, we may need to use Personal Information entered during the account-creation process by the school administration in the presence of a parent or guardian.
Anonymous analytics information may also be collected while you use App features and navigate between pages. Information may be used to:
- Improve the user experience.
- Run and operate the Mobile Application’s core functions.
- Detect errors within the App so they can be investigated and resolved in future updates.
Processing of Personal Information depends on how you interact with the Mobile Application and Services, where you are located, and whether one or more of the following applies:
- You have given consent for one or more specific purposes.
- The information is necessary to perform an agreement with you or meet related pre-contractual obligations.
- Processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation that applies to you.
- Processing relates to a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us.
- Processing is necessary for legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party.
Managing your information
Certain Personal Information cannot be deleted directly through the App because account information is created, added, and managed by the school administration.
This information is kept securely and is not shared with other parents or third-party organizations. It is used only to manage the school’s systems and individual user accounts.
To edit or delete your Personal Information, or to permanently delete your account, contact the school administration or contact us using the details at the end of this Policy.
Disclosure of information
We do not share personally identifiable information with unaffiliated third parties. Where third-party services support App functions, they are used only as described in this Policy.
Retention of information
We retain and use Personal Information for as long as your user account remains active and for the period necessary to enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, and comply with any longer retention period required or permitted by law.
We may use aggregated data derived from or incorporating your Personal Information after you update or delete it, but not in a manner that identifies you personally. Personal Information is deleted when the retention period expires. After deletion, rights that require the information to remain available—including access, erasure, rectification, and data portability—cannot be exercised for that deleted information.
Geolocation information
Shared only when needed
The App does not collect your location continuously or without your knowledge. Location is used only on the Map page, where a parent may manually share a home location.
A location shared by a user helps the school administration understand where students are distributed within the city and plan suitable collection and drop-off routes between school and home.
We do not store a history of locations in our database. Only the most recently shared location is used.
Data analytics
Our Mobile Application and Services use third-party analytics tools—Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics—that collect standard App activity, usage, and diagnostic information.
This information is used to compile statistical reports about activity, such as how frequently users visit the Mobile Application and general usage trends. We use these reports to monitor performance, diagnose problems, and improve the Mobile Application and Services.
We do not use third-party analytics tools to collect personally identifiable information or associate statistical reports with an individual user.
Push notifications
We offer push notifications that you may voluntarily enable. To deliver notifications to the correct device, we use Firebase, which relies on a unique token for each device. This token does not contain personal information or direct identification. You may stop receiving push notifications at any time through your device settings.
Links to other resources
The Mobile Application and Services may contain tutorials and educational videos, primarily from YouTube. These resources are reviewed and approved by the systems administrators before they are made available to parents in the App.
Information security
Information is stored on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment protected from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information in our control and custody from unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure.
We apply reasonable safeguards and continually work to protect information, but no electronic storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and amendments
We may modify this Policy or its terms related to the Mobile Application and Services at our discretion. When we do, we will revise the updated date on this page and may post a notification in the Mobile Application, send an email, or provide notice using other contact information you have supplied.
Unless otherwise stated, an updated version of this Policy becomes effective when it is posted. Continued use of the Mobile Application and Services after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes consent to those changes. We will not, without your consent, use Personal Information in a manner materially different from what was stated when the information was collected.
Acceptance of this policy
By accessing and using the Mobile Application and Services and submitting information, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy and agree to its terms and conditions. If you do not agree to this Policy, you are not authorized to access or use the Mobile Application and Services.
Contacting us
If you have questions, concerns, or complaints about this Policy or the information we hold about you—or if you wish to exercise your rights—please contact us. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve requests and disputes within the timescales required by applicable data-protection laws.
